Padel Drills: 8 Solo and Partner Drills to Improve Fast
Want to improve fast? Matches are fun, but drills are where real progress happens. These eight padel drills work on the shots that win points, from glass control to the bandeja, and most need only a court and a partner (a few you can do solo). Add a couple to every session and you will feel the difference.
Solo drills
Wall control: feed the ball against the front wall and control the rebound, focusing on soft hands and clean contact.
Serve targets: practise your underarm serve into each corner of the box, ten to each side.
Back-glass reads: throw balls to the back glass and practise letting them drop before you play them out.
Partner drills
Lob targets: aim deep defensive lobs into the back corners. Depth and height over power. This underpins good defensive play.
Volley walls: one at the net, one at the back, rally controlled volleys to build touch.
Bandeja repetition: feed high balls so your partner practises the bandeja to hold the net.
Two on one: two attack the net, one defends and resets. Rotate every few minutes. The best all-round pressure drill.
Cross-court patterns: rally only cross-court to build consistency and positioning for doubles.
How to use these drills
Pick two or three per session, do a proper warm-up first, and focus on quality over quantity. Ten clean reps beat fifty rushed ones.

FAQ
What is the best padel drill to improve fast? The two-on-one drill. It builds defense, attack, and fitness at once, and mirrors real match pressure.
Can I practise padel alone? Yes. Wall control, serve targets, and back-glass reads can all be done solo on a court.
How often should I drill? Add two or three drills to each session. Consistency beats occasional long practices.
